Go Off, Sis!

You.

Yes, you! GO OFF, SIS! If you are wondering what that means, it means that you are doing fantastic with whatever you are dedicating yourself to right now! You are going to get that new position or that big bonus! Whatever it is that you are focused on achieving, it is YOURS!

With March being Women’s History month and today being International Women’s day, I felt that it was absolutely necessary for me to express who I am and why I know that we are the most amazing beings created!  So, let’s begin with, “Hey guys! I’m Kristen Spearman!”

This is a safe space, right? I want to be as open and honest as I can with you all as quickly as I can. Growing up in the small town of Saluda was not fun. From lower to upper grade school, I was exposed to pretty much the same people on a daily basis.  I worked in my local grocery store throughout high school and was a cheerleader, so I was pretty outgoing and used to interacting with new people. Back then, I never wanted to truly connect with anyone and I know this because the Kristen that I am today wants to sync souls with every person she encounters.  I was one of those girls that pretty much (and again, I am being completely open) got what she wanted. My parents sometimes told me no, but most often, the answer was yes.

FAST FORWARD to college. This was a game changer for me. I was free to be who I wanted to be! I could come and go as I pleased. I could go to class or simply say, “Nahh, not today!” I could work if I wanted nice things or I could not and still be perfectly okay. So, as you can read, I never really struggled with much until I became older. Undergrad flew by. Graduate school flew by. Then, HELLO; the real world hit me! I linked with my then boyfriend, now husband during this transition and I am pretty sure that was needed so that he and I could grow together.  Yes, this is #IWD and #WHM but I wouldn’t be who I am and have the willingness to UPLIFT, ENCOURAGE, and ELEVATE others without my sweet cheeks!

Moving on.  As I have become more equipped with the armor of God and seriously focused on life and what it means to truly LIVE. There has been a shift in Kristen.  Don’t get me wrong, I fall short sometimes. I can have a bad attitude, talk back like it is no one’s business, and hug you in a five-minute span. I am not perfect and I want to be sure that YOU understand that I know this!  The thing about my story that we can all relate to is that we all get to evolve and learn as we go. Women are still not on a level playing field as our male counterparts, and while that is not ok; it’s pretty dope to salute all the awesomeness that is delivered by women. In months and days like this, we clearly see how passionate, resilient, patient, and humble we are. THAT’S OUR MAGIC.

We tend to allow ourselves to become so intertwined with social media. I definitely do. I have found myself envious of what others show on their feed or even play the comparison game. (We are all guilty.) But then I have to take a step back and check myself. Girllll! You’re where you’re supposed to be! Your win will come! OUR win will come, ladies!

With all of this said, I want women of all races, nationalities, and ethnicities to know that no matter what we have been through, what we have experienced, or what we will go through, we can handle ANYTHING that comes our way! Together, we are an even greater force! 🅖🅞 🅞🅕🅕, 🅢🅘🅢!

Share some motivation for women in the comments! You never know who you are helping with your encouraging words!
