Let’s keep it real guys; who doesn’t love diamonds and pearls? Did you instantly begin singing the legendary song by Prince? I completely did! It’s always so fun to get cute in a dainty top that works for in and out of office settings. I was so excited to be in Charleston and have the chance to shoot this look with Nicole Mickle. She’s pretty bomb so be sure to check her out if you are ever in the area. Continue reading “Diamonds and Pearls”
Hello everyone! I’m trying out a different format for today’s blog post. I would appreciate any feedback on what you think! I have my thoughts on it, but I want to hear from you! Do you like it, not like it, or did you not even notice? Let me know!
YESSSS!! Spring arrived and my fits are in full swing for the season! Check out this super casual and comfy look I created from my closet!
Denim on denim will forever be one of my favorite looks.
Hello, fall! Goodbye, summer!
Yes, I will definitely miss my fabulous summer styles. As we move into the new season, we all know what this means…shopping time! (Well, really any time is a good time for shopping, right?) If you are like me, you are looking for fabulous pieces within your budget that speak fashion volumes! Continue reading “Shift to Fall”
There’s nothing like a good bow and a few chic ruffles, so that’s just what I wanted to deliver! Here’s another spring fling fit that’s comfortable, affordable, and perfect for any day or night date!
This entire outfit is from Express including this purse. My shoes are the oh so comfortable Michael Kors slings. Literally can wear them all day long!
[Many thanks to Serenity Photography for working with me on this post! ]
Yes, I know, this is a spur of the moment post but I had to give you AKCESS to more details of this outfit! This will be simple, short, and sweet…no worries.
Ok, so this entire ensemble was purchased from Express! (In case you missed it, Express one of my favorite stores!) I caught the ruffled top, the destroyed denim and the sandal heels all on sale! My rule is to never pay full price for items you can catch on sale! Patience is essential! Everything is true to size if you’re curious. As far as accessories go, my “Mrs” necklace is from Entourage. My watch is Michael Kors. The nail and screw gold bracelet is from a boutique called Monkee’s!
I hope you guys enjoy this post and I encourage you to always, always feel free to give me feedback! It helps me to cater to what you want to see on AKCESS! Also, thank you to Courtney of Serenity Photography (again, based out of Greenwood, SC) for taking these photos for me! Kiss kiss.
Ok ladies, let’s talk about fashion accessories! My number one favorite accessory obsession of the fall and winter season in the Carolinas is faux fur! I absolutely love how it gives your outfit so much pizazz. There are so many items out on the market that possess faux fur, but if you’re anything like me, I have to be very mindful not to overdo it. There are some pieces that just aren’t made for my body type. Some woman don’t like to admit that fact, but I will be the first to stop and say “Oh no! Stop it right there!”
To shine a bright light on the items that I can wear, my first favorite fashion add on is the faux fur Pom Pom purse/keychain!
This can be worn on really any bag that you want! The possibilities are limitless when it comes to these things. This Pom Pom came from Charlotte Russe for less than $10.00! Super deal, right? There are some faux fur poms that are more expensive, but those are the “name brand” options such as Michael Kors or Fendi.
My second favorite faux fur look is the scarf!
I was able to grab this gorgeous piece from Target for less than $20.00! Steal! I love infinity scarves, so this one was a must-have! This can be worn with pretty much anything except for other faux fur pieces. (Just in case that was in question.) This is a great piece to use when you’re wearing off the shoulder, cold shoulder, or full sleeved tops and/or dresses. This top that I’m wearing is a mix between off the shoulder and cold shoulder and of course I purchased this from Express. These dark denim jeans are from Express also!
[ Purse featured is a Speedy 30 Damier Ebene Canvas ]
My third and final look for my faux fur obsession is of course, the vest!
I was able to snag this from H&M! I have a black and white mixed one (featured on my Christmas Cheer post), but this brown goddess stays tucked away in my closet, I’m not really sure why though! This is definitely a comfortable piece and the added bonus is that it has pockets! Pockets are the perfect detail on this vest and is quite handy too. It can hold your gloss, phone, or whatever you need that’s compact.
[ Purse feature is a jewel! Contact me for details until future feature post ]
So to wrap this up, don’t be afraid to embrace faux fur! It can be an outfit saving accessory or your highlight element to your outfit! Either way, it’s bound to be a hit!
[Thank you to Row Gallery of Columbia, SC for allowing me to use their brick and mortar located at 2911 Millwood Avenue for my photo session with Lavish Moments Photography (Kristen G.) Also, thank you to Tripp D. Barnes for creating this gorgeous mural for the world to see, appreciate, and love! ]
I bleed GARNET & BLACK! Everyone involved in my life knows this. From late August to early December I am a definite no-go in attendance to anything taking place on Gameday at Williams Brice!
[If you aren’t familiar with what Williams Brice is, you’re missing out so here you go, thank me later for the introduction]
I may not catch every single play or know every call from the refs but I am always at the game no matter what! Aside from the University of South Carolina being my alma mater, my husband was blessed with the opportunity to play for Carolina (2008-2010) so these, of course, are enough reasons to understand why Gamecock football is near and dear to my heart.
Every gameday in the CAROLINAS or really any game requires a personal checklist. Here are a few items i believe to be detrimental when heading to the best tailgates and to cheer on your favorite teams!
- Outfit coordination with school colors
- Contributions to the tailgate that you are attending – – YOU NEVER go to a tailgate empty-handed regardless of what the host says
- Tickets for entrance into the stadium
- Can I take this purse into the stadium – – here is the official link for you to check; purse items needed are your favorite lip balm, shades, compact makeup for retouches, cash money (debit cards are a headache at the stadium)
- Carolina Card – – if you are current or alum you can totally still use your Carolina Card for shuttle services at the Coliseum parking area
- Don’t forget your YETI – – by far the best cup for any occasion
This should help you prepare for your SATURDAY IN THE SEC. If this checklist is apart of your planning, you totally will have a great day.
On the average gameday, I attempt to look super priss but comfortable. Yes, this is absolutely achievable! Once, I wore brand new booties to the game and my feet were screaming at the end of the day literally carrying over into the work week. I think so far this season my favorite most comfy-fashionable fit I’ve worn is completely from Express with the exception of the necklace. It was purchased from Boohoo. Wearing comfortable shoes is my biggest goal so if you can find a good pair, hold on to them!
Here are my top FIVE (5) bootie looks to love for gamedays…
Another part of my Saturday in Gamecock country happens to take place in the Lettermen’s Lounge.
Love that place. It’s so relaxing, cooling/warming (depending on the weather), and always has great food. This is where all of the lettermen of the University go during halftime to catch up on other games happening that day or just to get a bite to eat.
SELFIES ARE LIFE at Williams Brice. Really all photos are life at this point! I literally take 100 pictures of myself and delete 99 of them. It’s sickening but we are all guilty of it. Finding that right angle and the right lighting is everything. Bathroom lighting…not so much.
Very few understand the joy and the adrenaline rush I get when joining in with 80,000+ other people to cheer for our team! It is the most electric feeling, no doubt. From sandstorm, to 2001, to chanting
U-S-C, GOOOOOO COCKS ten million times, there is not one thing I would change or any other place I’d rather be!
